November Newsletter

November half-term

We hope you have had a lovely week off and are looking forward to a festive 7 weeks. We would like to welcome two new families in the setting. This term we will be covering celebrations, if you can contribute towards any resources for this including glitter, coloured paper and Christmas stickers.

Committee

We would like to thank the few parents that turned up for our annual AGM meeting last half term. We are grateful for the two members that joined and Saroj for stepping up as our chair. Without these parents, we would not have a pre-school. We look forward to working them to keep the pre-school running successfully and appointing a new manager in the new year.

Nits : We have had reported cases of nits at the pre-school. We would like to remind all parents to please ensure that all hair is tied back to prevent this and you are regularly checking your child’s hair. A nit comb and hair conditioner is the best way of checking hair and getting out nits.

These reminders are important we still have children coming into sessions without these belongings.

  • ALL CHILDREN SHOULD BRING A NAMED BAG THAT CONTAINS AT LEAST ONE CHANGE OF CLOTHING. FAILURE TO DO SO WILL RESULT IN US PHONING TO COLLECT IF YOUR CHILD NEEDS CHANGING.
  • Water bottles need to have child’s names on please.
  • Appropriate clothing for weather- coats need to be brought to EVERY session as we do play outside and changing of weather is resulting in children saying they are cold and having to come inside due to inappropriate clothing.
  • We provide messy activities and experiences for children to enjoy, so please put your child in clothing that you don’t mind getting a bit messy.
  • No personal toys should be brought in unless the staff request them for their topic.

Sickness:  Due to changes in weather, we would like to remind you of our procedures for sickness.

  • Diarrhoea and sickness 48 HOURS absences since the last time they were sick or their last diarrhoea.
  • Temperatures: 24 hours of the absence.
  • The child has been prescribed antibiotics – 48 hours since starting medication

Please inform the setting through email or telephone if your child is going to be absent.

Weather warnings: As it is that time of year again we would like to inform you of our weather procedures.

If the school has to close due to bad weather we have to close too. In cases like this, the school will advertise on Shropshire radio and Telford and Wrekin school closure web site. We will always try to inform you ourselves so look out on Facebook or our website.
