September 2019 Newsletter

We would like to welcome all families to our preschool after the summer holidays.

We have put together some reminders for you and dates to remember.

Teddy room.

The teddy room has a book borrowing service in the main entrance. You are welcome to loan a phonic book to share at home with your child. Please record what book you have taken and the date you return it. This is a great opportunity for you to share quality time with your child  and them starting to show interest in reading books

Monkey room.

The monkey room has resource bags that you can borrow to play with your child at home. They come with a booklet with ideas of what to play. They are a good opportunity to share some quality time with your child. Please speak to Nikki and Karen for further information.

 Belongings.

Please can you ensure that your child brings the following to every session:

A bag that is named that contains a change of clothing including socks & pants. If in nappies, nappies wipes and nappy bags. (Please do not include cream’s, please speak to your key person first regarding this.)

A drinks bottle that is named and contains water. (no fruit shoot bottles or baby bottles please)

A coat that is named- if providing hats or scarfs please name them.

We ask that children do not bring in toys from home as these can be lost in the setting. If your child requires a comforter please speak to your child’s key person in regards to these.

Please remember to inform us of any changes to contact telephone numbers and if your child’s medical conditions change and they require treatment or medication.

Donations

As we are a charity run pre-school we rely on Government funding and fees. We provide a donations jar in both rooms that we would appreciate if you could contribute towards. On average the pre-school spends £20 per week on snack alone, so every little donation helps the setting to continue to purchase snacks and resources.

Staffing.

At current we are still seeking a manager to take over zena. At current Emma is covering this role with Nikki as the Deputy. If you have any questions or concerns please speak to them.

  • Start of 2nd Autumn term Monday 4th November

Committee

You may not be aware but our setting is run by a committee of parents who volunteer their time to help keep the pre-school open. Without these volunteers the pre-school would have to close. We are due shortly for our annual AGM, we are asking any parents that are interested in helping run the pre-school to come and speak to Emma who will provide you with further information.

Early Years Pupil Premium

It is important that you complete the recent forms provided and return to the pre-school as soon as possible. These may help the setting gain further funding for the setting to help provide more experiences and resources for the children.
